Why are they always delayed. Always. Always. Always. It's rediculous. You would think that someone could figure out how to make these damn things on time. At least close to on time. But 2 hour delays??? Come on!!

In my experience:

- U.S. Airways - always delayed
- United - usually delayed
- American and Delta - sometimes delayed
- JetBlue and Virgin America - rarely delayed

I haven't flown Southwest enough to make a judgement on that one.

Figure out how to control the weather and making reliability on a plane that flys sometimes 10 flights a day every day 100% and youll solve the problem.

Southwest has proven to be pretty reliable and if they do delay, they're good (at least in Nashville, Tampa and RDU) good at providing explanations.

But if it's weather, you're boned. That's not the airline's fault unless they fail to schedule in de-icing times in the winter.

Was flying out of O'Hare once on a regional jet and they were doing the standard control surfaces test. The spoilers popped up and then went down. After they cycled the third time my thought was "shit, that can't be good". They then proceeded to keep cycling for the next 5-10 minutes so they had to park at a gate and wait for maintenance. The pilot claimed they turned the flight control computer off and back on and that reset everything.

Yup. System resets solve lots of problems. Not every computer runs perfect being on for 18 hours in big temperature cycles and high vibration environments.
